Delete your StreetReport account
Last updated: 11 June 2026
This page explains how to delete your StreetReport account and the data associated with it, what gets deleted, and what we keep.
StreetReport is designed to hold as little about you as possible: you sign in with a UK mobile number only, and councils never see that number, just a pseudonym (e.g. Bright Falcon). There is no password and no profile.
Delete your account in the app
This is the quickest way and takes effect immediately:
- Open StreetReport and go to the Account tab.
- Tap Delete account at the bottom of the screen.
- Confirm in the dialog. Your account is deleted straight away and you are signed out on this device.
If you can no longer sign in
If you have removed the app or lost access to your number, we can delete your account on request:
- Email [email protected], or use our contact form, with the subject “Delete my account”.
- Tell us the UK mobile number you signed in with (and, if you can, your StreetReport pseudonym) so we can find and verify your account.
We may ask you to confirm the request from the phone number on the account, to make sure someone else cannot delete it on your behalf.
What gets deleted
The moment you delete your account, we permanently remove:
- your verified phone number;
- your login, so you are signed out on every device; and
- the push-notification tokens for your devices.
After this you can no longer be identified or contacted, and a council can no longer reach you about your reports. If you ever sign up again with the same number you start a fresh, unconnected account with a new pseudonym.
What we keep, and why
- The reports you submitted stay on file as records of a street issue, but they are detached from you: they keep only your pseudonymous display name (e.g. Bright Falcon), never your phone number. A council may still be working on a report you sent, and the issue itself is public-interest information.
- Reports already sent to a council. When a report is submitted to a configured council, the council receives an email (with the photo) and a private link to manage it. A council’s own records and inbox are outside our control and may retain what they already received.
If you would also like the content of your past reports (photos, locations, messages) removed and not just detached from you, say so in your email and we will handle it as an erasure request. See your rights in the Privacy Notice.
Timing
In-app deletion is immediate. Email requests are actioned within 30 days. Copies held in routine encrypted backups are overwritten on our normal backup cycle, within a further 90 days.
