Terms of Use
Last updated: 18 April 2026
These terms apply when you use the StreetReport mobile app or the streetreport.co.uk website. By using either, you agree to them. If you don't, please don't use StreetReport.
What StreetReport is (and isn't)
StreetReport is a way to route street-issue reports from citizens to the correct local council. We forward your report to the council we identify as responsible for the location. We are not a council, and we can't guarantee the council will act on any particular report or within any particular timeframe.
StreetReport is not an emergency service. If there's an immediate risk to life or property (gas leak, downed live cables, flooding endangering a building), call 999. For non-emergency police matters, call 101. For highway emergencies on the SRN in England, call 0300 123 5000 (National Highways).
Your account
You sign in with your UK mobile number. You're responsible for keeping that phone secure; anyone with your phone and access to your SMS can sign in as you. If you lose your phone, contact us so we can help rotate access.
Rules for reports
When you submit a report, you agree that:
- it describes a real street issue you're aware of (not a prank, not a duplicate for sport)
- you took the photo yourself, or have permission to upload it
- the photo doesn't deliberately identify anyone (faces, number plates, private property beyond the issue itself should be avoided)
- you won't use the reporting channel to harass council staff or other residents
Councils can block reporters who abuse the service. If you're blocked, you can still use the app, but reports you submit to that council will not be actioned.
What we do with your photos
You keep the copyright in your photos. By submitting them you grant StreetReport and the receiving council a non-exclusive licence to store, display, and use them for the purpose of triaging and resolving the reported issue, and to display them to you in your own report history. We don't use your photos for marketing or sell them to third parties.
Service availability
We run StreetReport on a best-effort basis. We may change, suspend, or discontinue any part of the service at short notice. We'll try to warn you if a change meaningfully affects you.
Liability
Nothing in these terms excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or anything else that can't be excluded under UK law. Subject to that, StreetReport is provided "as is" and we're not liable for any indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of it, for example, for any delay or failure on the council's part to fix an issue you've reported.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. Any dispute that can't be resolved between us goes to the courts of England and Wales.
